A fortunate life

Through amazing fortune, I have enjoyed a lifetime of outdoor adventures, both as a personal passion and professionally. Cub Scouts served as the ignition to launch an obsessive pursuit of all things outdoors, which continued through college and into professional life. I have luckily parlayed my pursuits into jobs, from designing outdoor gear, training outdoor athletes, testing outdoor products, and, finally, writing about all of it.

I am a regular contributor to Upshift Online Magazine, Gear Junkie, Gear Institute, Upventur, Racer X Virtual Trainer and other related sites. Musings here will be more personally sourced and informal. They may encompass subjects ranging from trip reports, gear reviews, lessons learned while pursuing adventures, and opinion editorials. I sincerely hope you find value in my ramblings.

I live in the woods in Wimberley, Texas with my six-year old daughter, a dog and a cat. In an amazing stroke of dumb luck, our property connects to a wildlife refuge.

Thanks for stopping by, and may adventure be with you.
